Cameco Releases 2014 Sustainable Development Report

Cameco (TSX: CCO; NYSE: CCJ) today released its 2014 sustainable development report.

The report provides data on Cameco’s sustainability performance on 33 Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) indicators and includes three indicators unique to the company.

“At Cameco, we want to create safe, healthy workplaces for our employees, a clean environment for our children, and to make a difference in the communities where we live and work,” said president and CEO Tim Gitzel. “This report demonstrates our commitment to sustainability as we strive to bring safe, clean, reliable energy to the world.”

Some of the report highlights include:

  • Strong safety performance in 2013, with injury rates trending downward at each site
  • Zero significant environmental incidents at Cameco operations in 2013
  • Strong community support in all the regions where Cameco operates
  • Outstanding financial performance, including record annual revenue in 2013
